Overcoming child abuse trauma is not easy, but it is possible through therapy and support. You can learn to trust, love, and feel again.

Mayo clinic has compiled a list of child abuse and neglect signs.  If you suspect child abuse, please speak up, call the authorities.

 Human Rights Watch, "Legal protections for children in the United States and in every individual state fall short of international children’s rights standards, Human Rights Watch said today. Children in the US can be legally married in 41 states, physically punished by school administrators in 47 states, sentenced to life without parole in 22 states, and work in hazardous agriculture conditions in all 50 states. As the only UN member state that has failed to ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the US falls far below internationally adopted standards."

In a 2019 study of over 4,000 family court cases, Meier found when mothers report child abuse or domestic violence in custody litigation, they often actually lose custody to the alleged abuser. Women lost custody 28% of the time they reported abuse, she found — potentially putting children in harm’s way.

Family Court corruption runs deep throughout the United States.  No state is immune.  While there are many advocacy groups, few have power to make any change.  One group dedicated to helping protective parents is the Foundation for Child Victims of Family Court.

In 2022,  St. Louis County, Missouri, 38 GALs and family court employees were caught on a Zoom video call talking about how to LLC the money made on child custody cases.

Those  judges still preside over cases of these GALs.  To date no action has been taken to hold these GALs accountable.  Further, these folks are still practicing family law as GALs. 

There have been attempts to take money out of the guardian ad litem processs, however, according to the American Bar Association

"Its volunteer guardian ad litems' program has had serious instances of misconduct, including attempts to fabricate evidence, violations of confidentiality, and retaliatory actions against those exposing wrongdoing."

The ASCA offers a variety of resources to tell your story through virtual cafes, meetings, and blogs.  If you are so inclined to they offer training  to help you lead your own  group.

Organizing peaceful protests can have huge impacts provided the organizer can  plan well in advance.  

• Street protesting does not require permits. Call the local City Hall to ensure permits are not needed.  If they are ask where to get the proper permit.
• Use every social media platform to announce your cause. 
• Assign a few members to create signs and prepare a catchy chant.
• Your first protest may start out small, but keep protesting until they can no longer ignore your cause.

Contacting your State Legislator is another option.  

Prepare what your going to say.

Keep is short and to the point.  They are very busy.  Build rapport with the person answering the phone, call them by name.  

Follow up with a short email., after every call.

In order to get noticed contact them daily, or weekly, planting a seed in their mind of your cause.  You want them hear from you so much they begin to know what you want when they hear your name.

Get everyone you know to call them with the same message.
